Mickey Mouse – Brave Little Tailor is an Inkable Ruby character card in Disney Lorcana. It was first released in the game’s debut set, The First Chapter, as card number 115/204. It is one of the most iconic and powerful cards from the set, known for its high stats and Evasive keyword. The card was first revealed at D23 Expo 2022, alongside other early preview cards such as Elsa – Snow Queen, Captain Hook – Forceful Duelist, Stitch – Rock Star, Robin Hood – Unrivaled Archer, Maleficent – Monstrous Dragon, and Cruella De Vil – Miserable as Usual. It is a Legendary card, illustrated by Nicholas Kole.

This card introduced Ruby ink, the keyword Evasive, and the classifications of Dreamborn and Hero to the game.

Flavor text

"Every hero starts with a single brave act."

In the The First Chapter printing, the flavor text reads: "When defeat looms and victory hangs by a thread, a hero bolts to the rescue, patching things up through shear determination." (Note: "shear" is a pun on the tailor theme.)

• D23 Expo 2024 Promo – Card number 01/D23, released at D23 Expo 2024 with updated artwork and a gold foil D23 logo.

The card is not available as an Enchanted variant in The First Chapter (the set’s Enchanted cards are different).

Strategy

With 5 Strength, 5 Willpower, and 2 Lore for a cost of 5 Ink, Brave Little Tailor is an efficient beater in Ruby decks. Its Evasive keyword makes it difficult for opponents to challenge, as only other Evasive characters can block it. It can quest for 2 Lore each turn while being relatively safe from most opposing characters. It pairs well with other Evasive characters and Ruby’s aggressive playstyle.

Promotional releases

• The D23 2022 promotional version was the very first Lorcana card given to the public, making it highly collectible.
• The D23 2024 version features a new illustration (still by Nicholas Kole) and a gold foil D23 logo on the card face.

Other versions

A separate promotional card, Mickey Mouse - Brave Little Tailor (Disney Lorcana Challenge), was released as a prize for the Disney Lorcana Challenge tournament series. That version has different artwork and a Challenge stamp.

• The artwork is inspired by the 1938 animated short Brave Little Tailor.
• The flavor text pun "shear determination" references both the character’s courage and his profession as a tailor.
