Azurite Sea is the sixth set of the Disney Lorcana trading card game. It was released by Ravensburger for prerelease in local game stores on November 15, 2024, and had a full global release on November 25, 2024.[1] The set introduces a high‑seas adventure theme and features the debuts of Big Hero 6 and Chip 'n' Dale: Rescue Rangers in Lorcana.

The set consists of 204 main set cards. Azurite Sea does not introduce any major core mechanics like previous expansions, but instead focuses on two new character types – Robot and Inventor – that create synergistic deck‑building opportunities. The set also emphasizes Pirate-themed characters and brings Location cards back into the spotlight.

Story

Following the events of Shimmering Skies, the Illumineers set sail across the beautiful yet unpredictable Azurite Sea in search of a more experienced Illumineer to help them repair the shattered Great Illuminary. They encounter all sorts of foes who want to control the realm, including kakamora pirates, wily swashbucklers, and rival inventors with their accompanying robots. The Azurite Sea was previously mentioned on older cards, including Monstro – Whale of a Whale and Denahi – Avenging Brother.[2]

New mechanics and features

Robot classification

Robot is a new character classification introduced in this set, with Baymax leading the charge. Robot characters often have synergies with Inventor‑type characters and feature unique abilities related to protection and cost reduction.[3]

Inventor synergies

The set introduces new synergies for Inventor-type characters. Many Inventor cards benefit from having items in play or work together to reduce costs and generate Lore. Key Inventor characters include Gadget Hackwrench, Hiro Hamada, and the cast of Big Hero 6.[3]

Pirate theme

Azurite Sea places a strong emphasis on Pirate-themed characters. Pirate cards often have abilities that stack well together, focusing on camaraderie and teamwork. For example, Jim Hawkins – Honorable Pirate allows players to look at the top cards of their deck and put Pirate characters directly into their hand, while Wendy Darling adds an extra attack and Lore when another Pirate is in play.[3]

Location focus

The set brings Location cards back to the forefront. Moana – Kakamora Leader is a standout card in this regard – she costs 7 Ink to play, has 6 Strength and 5 Willpower, and can move any number of characters to the same location for free, earning 1 Lore for each character moved.[3]

Big Hero 6 (first appearance)

The entire cast of Big Hero 6 makes its Lorcana debut in Azurite Sea, including:

  • Baymax – The healthcare robot, featured as a Robot‑classification card

  • Wasabi – The laser‑wielding scientist
