Attack of the Vine! is the thirteenth set of the Disney Lorcana trading card game. It was announced by Ravensburger in April 2026 and will be released on July 17, 2026 for local game stores (with prerelease events) and July 24, 2026 for mass retail.[1] The set focuses on characters from Monsters, Inc., marking the second Pixar franchise to appear in Lorcana after Wilds Unknown.[2]
The set contains 204 cards, plus 6 Enchanted variants. It introduces the Vine tokens mechanic and the Overgrowth keyword.
Story
Following the exploration of the Wilds Unknown, a new danger emerges: aggressive, sentient vines begin to overrun the Inklands. These vines, originating from a corrupted location called the Overgrowth, threaten to consume all glimmers. Illumineers must team up with characters from Monsters, Inc. – including Sulley, Mike Wazowski, and Boo – to stop the spread and rescue trapped characters.
The set also features characters from the 1973 film Robin Hood (e.g., Robin Hood, Little John, Prince John) and additional Toy Story characters that were not included in Wilds Unknown.[1]
New mechanics
Vine tokens
Vine tokens are a new type of token that can be placed on locations or characters. A location with Vine tokens produces fewer Lore or has reduced abilities. Characters with Vine tokens cannot quest or challenge until the tokens are removed. Some cards allow players to remove Vine tokens by paying Ink or using abilities.[2]
Overgrowth
Overgrowth is a keyword found on certain characters and locations. When an Overgrowth card is played, it creates Vine tokens on the opponent's side of the board. Some Overgrowth cards gain bonuses based on the number of Vine tokens in play.[1]

Reception
Early previews of Attack of the Vine! have been positive, with fans excited about the inclusion of Monsters, Inc. and Robin Hood. The Vine token mechanic has been compared to "poison" counters in other games, adding a new layer of strategy. Some players worry that Overgrowth decks could become too dominant, but Ravensburger has promised balance adjustments before release.[3]
Trivia
- Attack of the Vine! is the first Lorcana set to feature a non‑villainous antagonist (the sentient vines themselves).
- The set's name is a playful reference to the 1958 science fiction film Attack of the Crab Monsters.
- A special "Overgrowth" foil treatment will be available on some cards, featuring a textured, vine‑like pattern.[1]
Future sets
Following Attack of the Vine!, a set based on Coco (set in "Hyperia City") is scheduled for Q4 2026.[1]
