Wilds Unknown is the twelfth set of the Disney Lorcana trading card game. It was announced by Ravensburger on April 14, 2026, and will be released in local game stores on May 8, 2026, with a full global release on May 15, 2026. The set is notable for being the first to introduce characters from Pixar films into the game, including Toy Story, Brave, and The Incredibles.

The set contains 242 cards, including a new Iconic rarity tier above Enchanted. Wilds Unknown is the first set to feature a dedicated Prerelease Box, available exclusively during prerelease events at local game stores.

Story

Following the thawing of the Winterspell in the previous set, glimmers of Disney and Pixar characters find themselves cast to far‑off, uncharted areas of the Lorcana realm, including the Wilderknot, the Great Empty Sea, and Torchlight Peaks. Illumineers must venture into these dangerous territories to recover lost lore and discover what lies beyond the known world.

As part of the storyline, the set introduces 12 "Traveler" cards – special glimmers who are familiar with these rugged domains, including Ariel, Maleficent, Cruella de Vil, Cinderella, Pocahontas, and Woody.

New mechanics and features

Pixar characters

Wilds Unknown marks the first appearance of Pixar characters in Disney Lorcana. Confirmed franchises include:

• Toy Story – Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, Sid Phillips, Alien, The Claw, and various Sid‑created toys.
• Brave – Merida (who also receives one of the two Iconic cards).
• The Incredibles – Mr. Incredible, Mrs. Incredible, Dash Parr, Violet Parr, Jack‑Jack, and Frozone.

Toy classification

A new character classification, Toy, is introduced in this set. Cards with the Toy classification gain bonuses based on the number of Toy characters in play, and many Toy cards have abilities that help play themselves or other cards for cheaper ink costs.

Lore Nouveau art style

Enchanted cards in Wilds Unknown feature a new Art Nouveau‑inspired art style called Lore Nouveau, described as taking "organic features like winding curves and fluid elements" and merging them with Lorcana's signature aesthetic.

Iconic rarity

The set introduces a new rarity tier called Iconic, which is even rarer than Enchanted. Iconic cards feature the Lore Nouveau art style with additional foil treatments and full‑art designs. The two Iconic cards in Wilds Unknown are:

• Booster packs – 12 random cards per pack (6 common, 3 uncommon, 2 rare/super rare/legendary, and 1 foil of any rarity).
• Booster boxes – 24 booster packs.
• Illumineer's Trove – Includes 8 booster packs, 6 damage counter dice, a lore tracker, and 6 card dividers.
• 2‑Player Starter Set – Two 60‑card pre‑constructed decks (Amber/Emerald and Amethyst/Ruby), each containing 2 foil cards, plus a rulebook, paper deck boxes, lore tracker, and damage tokens.
• Prerelease Box – Available only during prerelease events at local game stores. Contains 6 booster packs, 1 of 6 random promo cards, 4 dice, a cardboard deck box, and a set‑specific postcard.

Starter decks

The 2‑Player Starter Set for Wilds Unknown features the following Ink pairings:

• Amber & Emerald – Focuses on healing and disruption.
• Amethyst & Ruby – Focuses on spell synergy and aggression.

Format rotation

With the release of Wilds Unknown, the Core Constructed format rotates out sets prior to Fabled. Only sets from Fabled onward will be legal in the Core Constructed format.

Reception

Wilds Unknown has been highly anticipated by the Lorcana community due to the long‑awaited inclusion of Pixar characters. Critics have praised the Lore Nouveau art style and the introduction of the Toy classification as a fresh strategic element.

Future sets

Following Wilds Unknown, Ravensburger announced the next set, Attack of the Vine!, featuring characters from Monsters, Inc. It will prerelease on July 17, 2026, with a full release on July 24, 2026. A set based on Coco (set in "Hyperia City") is scheduled for Q4 2026.

Trivia

• The set includes the first multi‑card panorama in Lorcana, featuring Mr. Incredible fighting an Omnidroid across two cards, with Mrs. Incredible and Frozone appearing in the background.
• Ravensburger worked closely with Pixar Animation Studios to develop the artwork and narrative for the Pixar characters.
